  • Why you need to do funder research

  • Research likely funders and understand their priorities

  • Identify key individuals at those funders

  • Develop an Engagement strategy

Week 3: Market Intelligence: Companies

  • Why you need to do partner research

  • Research likely funding partners and understand their priorities

  • Identify individuals at those partners

  • Map potential university partners and decision makers

  • Develop an Engagement strategy

Week 4: Develop Marketing Material

  • Why do you need marketing materials

  • A Product Quad Chart

  • A company Capabilities Statement

  • Draft customer outreach Emails

  • White Paper For Funding Topic Suggestion

Week 5: Funding & Proposal Process : Familization with:

  • The Funding Solicitation (SBIR Topic, BAA RFP, etc.)

  • The Funding Proposal

  • The Proposal Process

  • Proposal Evaluation

  • The Budget Section

  • Begin Funder/ corporate outreach

Week 6: Proposal Prep & Proposal Library: Outlining

  • Why should you pre-write a proposal

  • Write the outline for an Old Solicitation

  • Iterate the outline

  • Score Outline Against Evaluation Criteria

  • Outline At Least Three Past Performance

  • Continue Funder/ corporate outreach

Week 7: Proposal Prep & Proposal Library: Statement of Work (SOW)

  • Allocate pages

  • Write your Product Road Map

  • Convert product Road Map into an SOW

  • Continue Funder/ corporate outreach

Week 8: Proposal Prep & Proposal Library: Drafting

  • Convert outline into a draft proposal

  • Continue Funder/ corporate outreach

Week 9: Proposal Prep & Proposal Library: Budget Section

  • Compute Rates

  • Create Budget For Your Current Product

  • Convert budget into a Funding Budget

  • Continue Funder/ corporate outreach

Week 10: Proposal Prep & Proposal Library:Supplemental Documents 

  • Registering in all the necessary systems

  • Collect And Review All Supplemental Docs

  • Continue Funder/ corporate outreach

Week 11: Old proposal review

  • Go through old proposals to discuss why they did, or did not, work

Week 12: Proposal Hackathon

  • Two day workshop to convert the content you developed over the last 11 weeks into a submittable proposal aligned to a DoD topic
